Materials and Tools:
- Sculpey III clays
- Lime 521 - 2 Bars
(Divide as follows:½
bar (head), two ¼ bars (feet), two 1/8 bars (front paws), two
1/16 bars (ears). Use remainder for body.)
- Red Hot Red 583 -
1/4 bar (Divide as follows: Pinch off two 1/8"
balls (nostrils). Use remainder for
heart.)
- Yellow 072 - 1/16
bar (horn)
- Black 042 - 1/8" ball
(mouth)
- Liquid Sculpey
- Sculpey Glaze
- 12" of ¼" wide red satin
ribbon
- Two 8 x 6mm oval wiggle
eyes
- ¾" magnetic dot
- Paintbrush* Kid Dynasty
B-400, #8
- Stylus
- Ruler
- Craft Knife
- Oven set to bake reliably
at 275 degrees. (Always check with an external oven thermometer.)
- Old baking pan lined with
index cards
- Clean work area
Directions:
- Condition each piece of
clay till soft and smooth. Roll each into a ball.

- Make Body Parts as pictured.

- Set each aside. Shape Head,
Body, Feet, Paws and Ears with Lime.
- On the top press grooves
in edge of feet and paws using large end of stylus.

- Shape horns with Yellow.
Flatten into a ¼" wide by ¾" long rectangle. Cut saw tooth edge down
one side with craft knife. (If children are doing this project, use
a plastic, disposable knife or a table knife.)
- Shape Mouth by rolling
Black clay into a long skinny snake.
- Cut mouth 3/8" long.
- Shape Red clay into triangle.
Slice top edge in center with craft knife. Push sides to opposite
directions to form heart. (If you have a heart cutter in a small size,
use that).
- For nostrils, flatten Red
balls of clay.
Assemble Dinosaur:
- Apply Liquid Sculpey sparingly
between sections before pressing in place.
- Press ears on opposite
sides of top of head.

- Press straight edge of
horn centered on top of head.
- Press nostrils and mouth
in place.
- Press head on top body.
Press feet on bottom of body.
- Press front paws in place
on opposite sides of head.
- Press heart centered on
front body

Baking Instructions:
- Place on baking pan. Bake
at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool.
- Brush entire surface with
Sculpey Glaze. Let dry.
- Glue eyes on face.
- Glue magnetic dot on back.
- Tie ribbon around neck
with shoestring bow in front.
